Volunteers

Volunteers at Open Pantry's Loaves & Fishes Kitchen help prepare and serve meals and clean up the dining hall and kitchen. Volunteers may come in groups or as individuals. Volunteers under the age of 18, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with the exception of a groups who are with an advisor.

Volunteers are asked to arrive at the kitchen a half hour before the meal is served. Volunteers preparing meals are welcome to come earlier to use the kitchen if needed. The commitment to help with a meal is usually one hour to an hour and a half.

Lunch is served at noon everyday, except Sundays it's at 1:00. Dinner is served everyday at 5:00. During the week meals are served at Christ Church Cathedral in the Quadrangle. On Saturday the meals are served at South Congregational Church located at 45 Maple Street. On Sunday the meals are served at Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 797 State Street in Springfield.
